After nearly a month, I finally took my car for a roadtest last night. It runs fine but it definitely needs tuning. My main modification was my new intake with 8 injectors.
Before I had only 1 600cc/min inj. place before my TB, running 12psi with my BTM set at .75 retard per psi, timing set at 16 and I really was on the edge of detonation even with the a duty cycle of 100%. My initial run last night was at 15psi, BTM set at 0, 16 degree and no sign of detonation. I was running on 92oct. with my injectors duty cycle set a 40%.
I'm telling you this cause you guys with JRSC have a lots of trouble with detonation and using a bunch of tricks for increasing your fuel delivery. I really think that you should invest in an aftermarket boost dependant ECU. It's not that expensive and in the long run, it's going to pay. I mean, you're always saying that you're engine is going to last longer than a TC one. Maybe, but whatever type of engine you have, if it's running lean, its life is radically handicaped, just think of Sylvino. A 97 GSR blew up like what, 3 months ago. This isn't was I call a reliable long lasting engine.
No flames intented here. I just want to help the import scene to grow and to have a good image about their small high output HP engine. This is just my thaughts and I would definitly buy an aftermarket ECU before a water injection kit. Cure the problem, don't just put a band-aid on it.

Well, this is why Silvino blew his engine at 8 psi!
This is a story about a man named Silvino, he was a daring young lad looking for adventure around every corner. I say daring and not intelligent for one reason, he decided that on one nice day he would decide to take an adventure into the darkside of FI. We shall start this adventure with a casual drive on the freeway where our loley hero decided to make some audio recordings of his blower at full boost through all gears up till redline in 3rd gear, without the J&S retarding timing like it usually was and with the BTM practically turned off, he was stepping into the terrible 16's(timing that be), and with only an upgraded fuel pump to help him out. And on that terrible 4th, 5th, or 6th run, I cannot remember, the engine decided that running 16BTDC initial timing with no retard or advanced knock sensing abilities was not fun anymore and the engine decided to die!!!!!!!!!! DIE A HORRIBLE DEATH....
And this is the story of the CRAZY, HORRIBLE, DEATH OF AN INTEGRA!!

Oh yeah, I forgot about the J&S. I would also pay for an aftermarket ECU before it. It's a good security but peoples buy it because they know they have detonation problems, and afterward they are still running lean, the problem remain. If Sylvino had the proper fuel delivery, his car would still be running.
BigKat:
You're right, I don't have smog check where I live but do they verify if you're ECU is CARB approved ? If not, do it. Just make it run lean for your smog test. My setup consist of 4 injectors (230cc) driven by my EOM ECU and another 4 (330cc) controlled by my Rebic IV when under boost, no tip-in detonation. It's also RPM dependant (great for VTEC crossover).
And if I had smog test, I would only have to turn it off but I don't think it would be necessary since the engine will not be under boost for passing the test.

I think it was a combination of things actually.
-running lean for weeks
-running incorrectly for months (thanks JR certified installer)
-doing 10 back to back hard runs topping 3rd
-not enough fuel
HOWEVER, this suggestion for added injectors at the TB won't work because we couldn't be shooting fuel through the blower. THe obvious answer to our fuel deliverry is larger injectors controlled by an aftermarket FMU, ECU or a stock ECU reprogrammed. Nothing too confusing but getting this all setup is a pain since there are no preset kits available. Custom works costs $$. Oh well

I've nerver suggested the idea of using extra injectors before the TB for a JRSC (I can already see the fire) and I don't recommend it for the turbo guys. Cylinder #1 is running rich and it's leanning out gradually toward #4. But I do encourage peoples to get larger injectors with an aftermarket ECU. As you said, custom works costs but rebuilding an engine costs more, and it's a lot less fun.
BTW, I'm still surprise that nobody has lock-up theirs injectors buy running their fuel pressure over 100psi. Mine is now set at 50psi, under boost or not.
